People want
to be appreciated, loved, and proven right.
They want
the other person to like them.
That's not
enough, they also want to be respected.
A woman, a
man, and a child wants to be loved.
Every
person wants attention, and affection...
Some people
chase fame and popularity.
Some people
chase houses, cars, motorcycles, or summer houses…
Some people
spend their lives chasing a man.
Some people
spend their lives chasing a woman they made the only meaning of their lives!
Some mothers
see their children as if they were their only owner,
They spend
their whole lives devoting themselves to them.
Some people
put their work at the center of their lives, while some put their homes or
cars.
Maybe it's not just about what oneself want!
Maybe in relationships, it's about what the
other person needs!
Maybe a
teenager needs you not to enter his room!
Maybe a man
needs to be seen off at the door when he leaves early in the morning,
Maybe a
woman needs to just be able to rest,
A child
needs to just be able to joke around.
Think of a
secretary who is fighting with the patients because of the busy X-ray queue.
When
everyone is holding her responsible, at the most tired and frustrated moment...
Suffocated
and cramped among those who say, “When will my turn come?”
Maybe when
you understand his state, your situation will suddenly become understandable...
Being able
to say, “You really have a hard job. Dealing with so many people requires
serious patience.” will be useful.
Imagine going
into a gas station and intending to pay for fuel.
The woman
mopping the floors has mopped the entrance and the floors are wet...
While you
are concentrating on to pay and leave, maybe you have the right to go inside
with muddy shoes...
Maybe you
should think that “If this place is going to get muddy with everyone who
enters, this woman won’t be able to finish this place until morning!”
Maybe it's not just about what oneself want!
Maybe in relationships, it's about what the
other person needs!
Sometimes
it's just sympathizing.
Making someone
feel that you understand...
Understanding
that they are tired even if you are not...
Being able
to smile because they care even if you don't care.
Sometimes
it's to be able to say "Good job!" to a misshapen picture a child has
drawn,
Sometimes
to a woman trying to learn how to cook,
Sometimes
to a young girl trying to iron a shirt for the first time.
Sometimes
all someone expects is just a thank you.
Sometimes a
prayer…
To a shop
assistant who cares for you,
To a person
who gives the right of way,
To a person
who holds the elevator,
To a person
who gives you a sip of water.
Instead of
being interested in a gift that comes on your birthday, maybe it's to thank the
person who brought the gift.
It's to
appreciate labor.
Maybe it's
to not say "I'm on a diet" to a woman who makes manti as a gesture
for her family from morning till night in the summer, while she's still wearing
a floured T-shirt...
It's to not
say "This is all pointless work" to a woman who's been trying to make
tarhana for 3 days.
Maybe it's
to say "You've worked all day, you must be tired" and make coffee for
your neighbor.
It's to say
"Come on, leave the dishes, I'll do them" to your wife.
It is to
understand her needs and difficulties.
It is to be
able to say, “Come on, you’re late, I’ll clean up.”
“You have
exams tomorrow, I’ll clean up the table.”
It is to
say, “You look pale today, lie down.”
Maybe it's
to give a ride to an acquaintance who's walking home from the market with a bag
in their hand...
Maybe it's
to get your neighbor to the airport who can't find a taxi in the rain.
Sometimes
it is not right for a person to do everything he wants.
Sometimes
it is to be useful to someone else.
To be able
to sell a needed good,
To be able
to feed a hungry household,
To be able
to heal a sick person or an animal,
To be able
to understand the reason for the sleeplessness of that person,
To be able
to benefit someone.
Maybe it's not just about what oneself want!
Maybe in relationships, it's about what the
other person needs!
Maybe the
whole point is that my needs are met as long as I meet the needs of others!
The point
is not what I want, but to be able to unite with those around me.
